PHILADELPHIA. March 22.

Extract from the Journals of the House of Assembly of the State of Georgia, January 26.

On motion by Mr. Houton, Ordered. That leave be given to bring in a bill, for investing the United States in Congress assembled with a power to levy for the United States, certain duties upon goods imported into this state, from any foreign port, island, or plantation ; and that Mr. John Houton, Mr. Bowen, and Mr. Ilkfair, be a committee to bring in the same.

On motion by Mr. John Houton, Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a bill, to authorize the United States in congress assembled to, regulate trade from the British Wet-Indies ; and that Mr. John Houton, Mr. Habersham, and Mr. Brownson, be a committee to Bring in the same.
