Full Text
The extensive territory annexed to the Musquitto shore is of the last importance to Great-Britain, both as a country producing many valuable commodities, and as a post which opens an inroad into the richest provinces of Spain--the foundation of their wealth and power; for in case of a future war, or a revolt among their American subjects, a handful of British veterans stationed in that country might be a means of dividing the strength of the Dons so effectually, that their hostile efforts may be of no more avail against our country than the pecking of a wren against the talons of an eagle.
