Full Text

Nov 28.—Well, since the nights are long, dark and rainy, we will try to put in a word in again. The health in this community is fairly good, more than bad colds and we never saw a good one yet. Our corporation is large, but few inhabitants in it, but we must go a little on the outside to find something to say. So we will commence on Mill Gap, where the crows came by the thousand and took the corn by the bushel and did not pay for it, but we think people have the corn all out of their way now. They have been butchering some fine hogs and we hope meat will be cheaper another year.

Mrs. Susan Wilson is not much better and Mrs. Anna Delawder has been very ill for some time. We hope they will soon get all O. K.

There hasn't been much butchering done in Thorn Bottom yet, except the foresters men have been killing some rabbits and birds. We think they had a fine dinner for Thanksgiving. They have the dog to drive them, they have the eyes to see them, and they have the guns to shoot them, so they have no trouble to get them. We think they will finish their job of surveying til Xmas. We are sorry to see them leave us so soon.

Well the rabbit path makers, we understand, was stopped. They say they must make better roads. They say they are going to fence in a large boundary around Trout Point and put game in. Won't we have a time then, they should drive the wild cats out first.
