Negro Tenants Move
Into 200-Room Hotel

Detroit. - Negro tenants began moving into the 200-room, nine-story Gotham Hotel at John R street and Orchestra Place, Tuesday, following the sale of the building to John J. White and Associates, a group of Negro business men, by Albert B. Hartz, resident of the C. M. Hall Lamp Co., who was the owner.

The new manager of the hotel is W. H. Robinson.

Previously all the tenants were white. They were given the option of remaining but about 20 per cent moved out Tuesday.

The property is assessed at $200,000.
