The Diplomatic Corps Arrive at Washington From Omaha.
WASHINGTON, Oct. 16.-Shortly after 4 o'clock this afternoon the special train bearing the members of the diplomatic corps, army officials and newspaper men who have been guests of the Baltimore and Ohio and Northwestern Railroads and the Omaha Exposition for a week, arrived at the Baltimore and Ohio station. The run from South Chicago to Washington was made in the notable time of twenty-one hours and eight minutes.
On the train were nearly a score of the members of the diplomatic corps, General A. W. Greely, General Humphrey and Major Histand of the army, and a number of the well known Washington correspondents.
The Reception Committee of the Chicago Peace Jubilee pressed upon the party an earnest invitation to remain, but they reluctantly declined. Members of the party speak in flattering terms of their entertainment and entertainers on the trip.
