PARIS. October 4.

Our Joy here is inexpressible. Mr. Antoine, Lieut. of his Majesty's Chaces, on the 20th ult. killed, in the Wood of Pommieres in Auvergne, the wild Beast of the Gevaudan, which hath made such shocking Ravages in that and other Provinces.

The Beast was opened in the Presence of a great Number of Persons. The Intendant caused it to be embalm'd, and stuffed with Straw, and M. Antoine the Son is to have the Charge of conducting and presenting it. This Animal is 32 Inches high, 5 Feet 7 Inches and a half long, and 3 Feet thick. This Animal has 40 Teeth, and Wolves have but 26.
