YANKS SUNDAY
The front-running Atlanta Braves of the Georgia-Alabama Amateur Baseball League will see lots of action at Yankee Field this weekend. The Braves take on the tough Newnan Cardinals today in a make-up game that was rained-out earlier this season, and will continue their old feud with the Atlanta Yankees on Sunday. Game time will be 2:30 p.m.
The Cardinals come to town today with a 9-and-13 record. A double win over the Braves will enable them to gain ground on both the Calloway Cubs and Decatur Braves. That is why Manager Major McCary and his youngsters will go all-out to sweep this double-bill.
Sunday, the Braves and Yankees will give the fans an opportunity to see two promising young pitchers from Atlanta's Samuel H. Archer High School hook-up in a hurling duel. Eugene "Little Satchel" Anderson, a righthander, will fire for the Braves and Carlton Banks, a southpaw, will do the tossing for the Yankees.
