Yesterday both Houses of Parliament met at Westminster, pursuant to their last prorogation, and were further prorogued, by the Lord Chancellor, pursuant to his Majesty's proclamation, to the 10th of January; when they are to meet for the dispatch of business.

A further reduction of land forces is talked of, in consequence of a resolution to fill up the marine corps to their usual complement, and to retain thirty ships of the line, besides cruising frigates, and tenders, in commission.

The Lords who were present yesterday at the further prorogation of the Parliament, were, the Right Hon. the Lord Chancellor, his Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Viscount Falmouth, and the Earl of Marchmont. For the Commons, the Right Hon. the Speaker, and Philip Carteret Webb. Esq;
