Hereafter the reading public and patrons of The Herald generally may look for this paper everywhere on the first mail or express train.
Schedules between here and Fort Worth have often disarranged mails north, west and south, but the new train west from Dallas to Colorado City, leaving Dallas at an early hour, will correct these regretful mishaps, and give The Herald to all at as early an hour as a train or mail service can reach the point of subscription.
We have made additional arrangements for a thorough "State special" service, aside from our very general and exhaustive press report. With, therefore, a quicker means of reaching subscribers, a more extensive news report, both general and special, prettier type and finer press-work, THE HERALD proposes to demand attention and patronage from the people of Texas as the best newspaper in the Southwest.
Now, the early morning train from Dallas enables us, at Fort Worth, to catch all trains, and make all early connections on the Fort Worth & Denver, or the Missouri Pacific, north, or the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe, south, that the subscribers and readers of The Herald shall be promptly served with their paper.
Special agents and reporters of The Herald will be put on all trains, both to secure the faithful delivery and distribution of the paper, and attend to the collection and transmission of every possible item of news along the routes.
