Morehouse Grad Is Chaplain At Toledo Hospital

TOLEDO, O-(ANP)- The Rev. James Mitchell, a Morehouse college graduate, has been named associate Protestant chaplain at Toledo State hospital.

The 26-year-old clergyman served as student chaplain at the mental institution and accepted an invitation by authorities to return. A native of Atlanta, Rev. Mitchell has been attending the school of theology at Oberlin college.

He is the first Negro to serve as a religious leader at the Toledo institution. His duties include interviewing all patients when they first enter the hospital and outlining to them the spiritual benefits and resources offered.
