Correspondence of the Herald.

PLANO, TEXAS, September 19, 1881.

Mr. L. W. Shephard, living six miles west of Plano, met with the misfortune of getting his barn burned Saturday night. Supposed to be the act of an incendiary, as there was no fire about the barn. Mrs. Shephard, while running from the dwelling house to the barn to assist in putting out the fire, fell over some obstacle and broke her arm. Mr. Shephard's loss is about $1500. There was a considerable quantity of grain burned.
