THE GRAND MILLENNIUM.
An ingenious writer in the U. S. Gazette,
Descanting on the blindness and impolicy of
Our Administration, in their conduct to-
Wards foreign nations, remarks: -
"It is said, that when Napoleon has
Brought to his feet all the rest of the
World, he will be contented to allow us
To remain free and independent.
If
This were the case we should only be a
Tenant at will of our liberties, and must
Expect to give up the possession whenever
It suited our landlord to require the
Surrender. But we are told that he
Will not have a wish to interfere with
Us, that he will always be so reasonable,
That he will never ask of us any thing,
That will be inconsistent, with our hon-
Or and safety to perform. We too, no
Doubt shall be so wise and so just as to
Give him no occasion of offence, Why
This will be the blessed Millennium it-
Self, which has been so long predicted.
The Lion and the Lamb lying down to-
Gether. Then Bonaparte must be the
Angel, of whom we read in the Revela-
Tions, "who is to come with the key of
The bottomless pit and a great chain in
His hand - who is to lay hold on the Dra-
Gon, that old serpent, which is the Devil
And Satan and bind him a thousand
Years; and cast him into the bottomless
Pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon
Him."
