Full Text

The warlike Manifesto of the new Turkish Grand Sultan, which appeared in several Newspapers, and which originally was copied from the Paris Gazette, we are authorised to contradict, it being entirely false; and to the contrary, we are assured, by the same Authority, that the present Sultan, being highly sensible that the Court of France had been the main Cause of the present War, and still supported it by Craft and Intrigue, has absolutely discharged all those of his Ministers who have been suspected to be in the Interest of France, declaring that no foreign Court whatsoever shall have any Influence over the Affairs of the Sublime Porte. He has actually sent a Letter to the Army of the Grand Vizir, in which he earnestly desires that the Grand Vizir shall settle a Correspondence with General Romanzow, in Order to negotiate about the Peace, and that a happy End may be made to the shocking and enormous Homicides on both Sides. This Intelligence may be depended upon.

Our Correspondent adds, that most probably Russia will obtain a free Navigation in the Black Sea, to the great Disadvantage of all the maritime Powers.
