SENTENCE SERMONS
By REV. FRANK CLARENCE LOWRY
"Hallowed Be Thy Name"
1. NAMES have always held significance among men, and many families prize very highly the family name handed down to them.
2. This is as it should be, for names just do not happen . . . they are usually built with patience, care and skill to maintain a high moral pattern.
3. But, there is one great name that excels them all, that vibrates on land and sea, and electrifies dead fibers in human souls of creatures like you and me.
4. It is a name carrying such mysterious power that it can make the wounded whole, and out of its depths of eternal spirit can heal the sin-sick soul.
5. This is the only "Hallowed Name" in existence before creation, and will always remain a heavenly source of inexhaustible revelation.
6. It is a mystery even now in this late advanced day of atomic energy and electronics . . . and while these are daily becoming clearly known, man appears so stubborn and unwilling to comprehend heavenly phonetics.
7. How entrancing that this Hallowed Name represents God the Father and Jesus His only Begotten Son, and the Third Person of the God-Head, The Holy Ghost, being Three, yet One.
8. Yea, how perfectly wonderful that Jesus, the only begotten Son, came to this earth to reveal to us what God His Father was like; but today there are less for, than against Him who are carrying on a deceitful strike.
9. Think of this Holy Name, the life sacrificed and the name defamed . . . and even for these transgressions as late as now, He is willing to forgive all who will repent and humbly bow.
10. This is what makes His name greater than all others known, who was one with His Father when on the Cross He did groan . . . and now in Heaven intercedes for the whole fallen race, that whosoever will, can be saved by grace
11. Thus those who are now saved will begin to sing: "Some day this silver cord will break, and I no more as now shall see, but oh the joy when I shall wake within the Palace of my King."
12. But now while waiting for this glorious day when Heaven and Earth shall ring, the regenerated soul looks up to His God and joyfully begins to sing: "The name of Jesus is so sweet, I love its music to repeat, it fills my soul full and complete, the precious name of Jesus"
