By ROBERT M. RATCLIFFE

Fewer ice cream sodas are being bought at the corner drug store these days, which makes it sort of tough for some of the lovely co-eds.

When Uncle Sam stepped in and began calling young men to the colors, he not only made a slight dent in college enrollments, but left a veil of gloom around some of the young ladies who had been accustomed to sipping chocolate sodas with their best boy friends at the college soda fountain.

Four of the Morehouse stalwarts were bitten by the Defense bug last week, and before you could bat an eye, had volunteered for the Army Air Corps as cadets. They were dated as leaving Morehouse on January 13. They were scheduled to report to Fort McPherson for final examination and then hop over to Aircraft Division at Chanute Field in Illinois.

Among the quartet of Morehouse leaving here last week was Robert H. Wilson, of Atlanta. He was enrolled in the Morehouse freshman class and had many followers at sports events. Wilson is the youngster who handled the baton with the skill and ease of a veteran in front of the Morehouse band.

Making the trip to Chanute Field with Wilson were Floyd McKissick, sophomore, of Asheville, NC. James Sulon, sophomore, of Orangeburg, S. C. and James I. Washington, sophomore also of Orangeburg.

Dean B. Brailsford glanced through his records Saturday and revealed this. George Jackson, sophomore of Detroit, a football player, and Lilton Montgomery, sophomore, of Detroit were fought the draft before opening of school.

James Horace, a junior of Chicago, and Henry H. Jackson, sophomore.
