From Providence we learn, That the Person who was Master of the Privateer Sloop lately taken by Capt. Angel of that Place (and mentioned in the Papers) proves to be the same who was second Lieutenant of the LeAmerique Privateer, who engaged the Jamaica Packet; the Captain whereof, making a brave Resistance, had his Ears and Nose cut off, as soon as taken, and he and his People treated in a most cruel and barbarous manner. He is now in close Confinement in Providence Goal, by order of his Honour the Governor; and 'tis hop'd the Villain will meet with a deserved Punishment.
The chief Command devolved on him, the Captain of the Privateer being kill'd, and the first Lieutenant being sent away before the Engagement.
