OVER $60,000 DUE IN COUNTY TAXES

According to a statement submitted to Levy Court yesterday afternoon by County Comptroller Chandler there are $61,995.82 outstanding taxes due New Castle county.

Outstanding taxes in Wilmington amount to $21,987.91, and the taxes due in various hundreds for county, road, poor dog and capitation is as follows:

Appoquinimink hundred—E. N. Moore, collector, $1,472.44.

Blackbird hundred—A. Staats, collector $781.27.

Brandywine—G. M. Casey, collector $7,292.06.

Christiana—D. Meyers, collector, $2,846; same hundred, W. Fanning, collector, $2,926.21.

Mill Creek—W. T. Deighton, collector $35.14; same hundred, H. B. McVaugh, collector, $1,501.15

New Castle—J. F. Megginson, collector $1,070.04

Red Lion—T. T. Swan, collector, $1,006.51

Pencader—C. Walton, collector, $59.47.

St. Georges—T. E. Burn, collector $193.71; H. W. Pharo, collector, $2,340.44.

White Clay Creek—D. Appleby, collector, $5,979.90.

Wilmington—H. G. Rettew, collector $21,987.91.

Classified, the totals follow: County and poor, $42,844.91; road, $10,572.91; capitation, $5,269.50; dog, $3,308.50; grand total, $61,995.82.

The court passed a number of election bills, including one of $2,225 for the rent of buildings as registration and polling places. A bill of $551.50 in favor of the Superior Court for canvassing the returns in this county was ordered paid.

Allowances of $150 each to Charles C. Kurtz and L. Scott Townsend, the committee appointed to audit and inspect the books of the county, were ordered paid.
