Carrollton Attractions.

With the return of spring time, now full upon us, with its roses and perfumed air, and its glorious moonlight evenings, comes the desire for out-door amusement and recreation. But few are able to indulge in carriage drives over the shell road to the lake, and excursions to Carrollton appear to be most reasonable and inexpensive. We learn that our old friend Dan Hickok has recently put his grounds in complete order. He has laid a new dancing platform, and arranged burners to light his sylvan ball room with gas. Who will open the ball? All who like a quiet lunch will also find something to their taste at Schroder's. It is to get out of a crowded city, however, that people in the main go to Carrollton, and it is not strange that the cars for that place are crowded, especially on Sundays. A little more enterprise on the part of the Carrollton railroad managers would just now be greatly appreciated. Thousands would avail themselves of an opportunity to make the trip up town, where hundreds now go, if only more cars were put on the road. Let us have rapid transit and plenty of it.
