Joint Installation.
At a joint meeting of the G. A. R. and W. R. C. the following officers were installed for the coming year.
Dr. W. C. Maxey, Past Dept. Commander, installing the officers for the G. A. R., and Mrs. Marguerite Wilson, Dept. Officer, acting for the W. R. C.: G. A. R.-P. C. J. C. Gipson; S. V. C., A. J. Mitchel; J. V. C., J. W. Vassar; O. D., E. J. Smith; Q. M., A. Doore; O. G., H. C. Babb; Chap., W. S. Hawks; Adjt., M. L. March. W. R. C.-President, Mrs. Desdemona Smith; S. V. P., Mrs. Francena Calkins; J. V. P., Mrs. Susie Thorp; Treas., Mrs. Marguerita Wilson; Con., Mrs. Anna A. Maxey; Chap., Mrs. Sarah G. Maxey; Guard, Mrs. Rachel Dickson; Color Bearers, Mrs. Jennie Jacobs, Mrs. Lela Rockwell, Mrs. Minnie Tierney, Mrs. Rachel Dickson.
Following installation came musical selections by Mr. H. C. Maxey, with violin accompaniment by Prof. Gordon, an original poem by Chap. Hawks, and an issuing of "rations" by the ladies of the W. R. C., that were certainly not of the old army brand. A smoker and social followed till time to sound the "retreat."
