A FAMILY MURDERED BY THE INDIANS.—A correspondent in the Choctaw Nation, writes us as follows, says the New York Evening Post, dated March 10th, 1844

I have just received a letter from Col Upshaw, dated the 1st inst. stating that some ten days before that time, two men, one woman, and two children, had been killed on the Trinity, in Texas, about sixty miles from the Chickasaw Agency, by Indians, of what nation is not known, but supposed to belong to some of the wandering Tribes, north of, and near Red River. The bodies were literally cut to pieces. The woman was mutilated in a manner too shocking to be inspected. It is supposed that two boys who are missing, have been captured by the same party.—Van Buren (Ark.) Intelligencer, March 16th.
