They write from Paris of the 18th ult. that by Virtue of a new Regulation, every Planter in the French West-India Islands is obliged to set apart a particular Number of Acres for the Rearing up Cattle, Poultry, and the Necessaries of Life; which, it is computed, will be a National Saving of near a Million of Livres yearly, which are now sent to Ireland and British American Colonies; and is one great Cause why the French Islands, in Time of War, are so destitute of Provisions. that the Natives have, often in Case of Siege, been in Danger of starving.
