Mr Wilson, —"A letter from Dover, to a gentleman near this Borough," published in your last number, gives very erroneous "information with regard to the Bridge Law"
The first section is to this effect :—The commuter is to pay the Company at the commencement of the year, such a sum as may be agreed upon by the commuter and the Company. The toll-gatherer is to keep an account of each time the commuter or any of his family pass the bridge.— At the expiration of the year 25 pct is to be deducted from the amount the Commutor may stand charged with, on the Company's books, and if after a deduction of 25 pct. this sum should be less than that advanced by the commuter, the Company are to refund him the difference, but if the sum exceeds that advanced by the commuter he is to make up the deficiency. The commuter will therefore pay to the Company 25 pct. less than his actual cost of toll.
I have no concern in the Bridge company—but wish to see things fairly stated.

Main Argument
the letter corrects erroneous information about the bridge law, explaining that commuters pay an agreed sum upfront, with tolls tracked and a 25% deduction at year-end, resulting in payment of actual toll cost minus 25%.
