Full Text

Widow's Wood Society.

Our citizens will see, by a notice in another column, that this society will hold a meeting to-morrow evening. It is hoped that there will be a full attendance of the warm-hearted and charitable. The unusually high price of fuel has, doubtless, created much suffering in our midst, and who will sit down quietly by his own fireside, knowing that there are those so near him who are thus suffering, without doing something to relieve them. While we give freely to the poor of other lands, let us remember that charity begins at home, and that it is our first duty to relieve those who are in want in our immediate neighborhood.
