Among Ypsilanti women who attended the Washtenaw County Federation of Women's Clubs in the Saline Methodist Church Saturday were Mrs. J. E. Quackenbush, Mrs. Harry P. Church and Mrs. J. K. Chase from the Woman's Study Club; Mrs. J. M. Hover, Ladies' Literary Club; and Mrs. Harvey Woodbury, county treasurer, from the Research and Summit Study Clubs; Mrs. James Beach, Spencer Club.
At the business meeting opening at 10 o'clock, officers for the ensuing year were elected. Mrs. A. E. Armstrong, Ann Arbor, was elected president, and Mrs. Harvey Woodbury, was reelected treasurer. Annual reports and reports of work committees were read.
Luncheon was served at noon and in the afternoon the Saline Woman's Club presented a patriotic skit entitled "And Truth Goes Marching On." Dr. I. Metzger of the State Hospital gave a talk on "Mental Health in War Time." and Henry Burgess, a teacher in the Saline schools, gave a talk on home gardening. Miss Nina K. Preston, Ann Arbor, explained about the nurses scholarship and Mrs. Charles Jordin, Saline, reviewed the state convention in Jackson in March.
Vocal and instrumental music interspersed the talks. The new officers for the year were introduced. Sixty-six were in attendance representing 16 clubs in the county.
