Acting Gov. To Discuss Island Affairs Here Thursday
Acting Governor and Mrs. Charles K. Claiborne will arrive in St. Croix at 2:45 p. m. on Thursday, March 7, 1957 for the purpose of spending two days in the island for discussion of problems relating to the government with all interested persons. He will be at the Office of the Administrative Assistant at Government House, Christiansted, from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. on Friday, March 8th. All persons desiring to discuss governmental or related problems with the Acting Governor may make appointments in advance by calling Mrs. Canegata, Secretary to the Administrative Assistant for St. Croix, at Telephone No. 6 Christiansted, or by calling at that office in person at any time before or during the visit of the Acting Governor. The Acting Commissioner of Public Works, Mr. Donald Boreham, and other top officials will also be available at Government House in Christiansted on Friday, March 8th to discuss specific problems with all interested citizens.
The Acting Governor is most anxious that all residents of St. Croix feel free to present and discuss any and all matters relative to the welfare of the community with himself and other governmental officials who will be available during the period mentioned above.
