THE NOME NUGGET
CITIZENS CO-OPERATE IN
FIRE INSPECTION CHECK UP

Fire Chief W. W. Laws stated this morning that the fire inspection committee which is checking all heating equipment, etc., in the city, have met with a most co-operative response from all citizens so far.

Mr. Laws stated that this response is most heartening and shows that the community is anxious to help in avoiding any future fire that might be avoided.

Two fires were reported on Saturday morning, the first from the apartment of Tony Caylor at the U.S Mercantile Bldg. This fire was caused by a burning ironing board. The fire was about out when the fire department arrived.

The second was from 442 First Ave., at the residence of Sgt. G. Henson, and was caused by a sooty pipe. There was only smoke damage.
