FAREWELL SERMON.—The Second
Presbyterian Church was crowded to
its utmost capacity last night by the
many friends of Rev. Mr. Rice who had
assembled to hear that gentleman's
farewell sermon. The reverend gentleman
delivered one of his most earnest
discourses, and at the conclusion of
the services nearly all the members of
the congregation shook his hand and
wished him abundant success in his
new field of labor. Mr. Rice will deliver
a lecture in Sarepta Hall tonight
which he will give his impressions of
countries he visited during the past
summer. The lecture will be illustrated
by stereopticon views, and Mr.
Seymour Hill has arranged electric
lights in the hall for the purpose. Mr.
Rice will leave for Atlanta to-morrow.
