Naples, Aug. 27.- The police do not know as yet whether or not Porter Charlton, who killed his wife at Lake Como, three years ago, will be landed here on the arrival of the steamer Re Italia, on which he is being brought from America, or be taken on to Genoa. Arrangements have been made to put him on a train for Como at once in case he should be landed here. He will be placed under the escort of a squad of gendarmes. If he is landed here it would save a day's time. The police are taking precautions to prevent the reporters from interviewing Charlton on his arrival. The Re Italia is due here on Thursday.
