Full Text
The mass meeting conducted at the Court House to deal with the situation confronting the local schools, to devise a plan by which the institutions may continue uninterruptedly, proved that Paragould is possessed with an ample spirit of getting-together when a public problem is presented in an unbiased, unprejudiced fashion and the need for a solution of that problem is made clear. The speed, the harmony that characterized the disposition of the issue in this instance is very gratifying. As a rule, people are anxious, eager to do the right thing if they are reasoned with.
The closing of schools in a community on account of the need of a few paltry dollars, on account of the failure of the people to supply those dollars, would be a disgrace from which the community could never entirely recover.
