CHAIRMAN CLEMSON TRUSTEES

Col. Alan Johnstone Re-elected by Unanimous Vote.

Clemson College, April 4.—The board of trustees of Clemson College adjourned today after a satisfactory meeting at which routine matters largely were considered.

The chief matter was the election of a president and a secretary of the board, which election comes up every four years.

Col. Alan Johnstone, for 12 years president of the board, in an earnest and eloquent address urged the trustees to elect a younger man in his stead and let him take a place as a private in the ranks. However, the board would not entertain the idea of his retirement and unanimously re-elected him.
