PORTSMOUTH, (N. H.) April 23.

On Friday last, came on before the Hon. Superior Court, at Dover, the trial of Mr. Elisha Thomas, charged with the murder of Capt. PETER DROWN, when after a full hearing of the evidences, and of arguments made use of by the Attorney General, John Prentice, Esq. and the counsel for the prisoner, Col. Rawson and Major Sullivan, he was convicted of the fact, the jury bringing in their verdict—"guilty of wilful murder!" and sentence of death was pronounced upon him accordingly.
