LOCAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS OF INTEREST

Mrs. Bessie Watkins, of Marion, spent Tuesday in Old Fort.

Mr. and Mrs. Zachery Owensby of Marion, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. D. Haynes.

Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Haynes spent Saturday in Greenville, S. C.

Mrs. Annie Noblitt, who has been ill with influenza, is much improved.

Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Padgett of Marion were visitors in Old Fort on Sunday.

Miss Geneva Early of Asheville spent the week-end at her home in Old Fort.

L. N. Saunders of Washington, D. C., was a visitor in Old Fort Saturday.

H. C. Fisher of Asheville was in Old Fort Thursday.

Mrs. W. Crawford, Mrs. Sam Stone and Miss Betty Crawford were in Asheville Saturday.

Col. D. W. Adams made a business trip to Spruce Pine Saturday.

Carl Swann, of Asheville, visited his parents here Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis Bright of Marion were visitors in Old Fort Sunday.

Miss Ethel Hill of Marion was a visitor in Old Fort Sunday.

Frank McCurry of Asheville spent Sunday with his sister, Mrs. W. C. Nichols.

Mrs. D. H. Gosorn and Mrs. E. J. Burgin spent Thursday in Asheville.

Mrs. Lee Jordan and Mrs. Robie Harding of Asheville were visitors in Old Fort Sunday.

Mrs. Charles Steppe spent Saturday afternoon in Asheville.

Robert Wilkinson left Monday for Johnson City, Tenn., after a two-week's visit at home.

Mrs. George Moore and children have returned home after a several days visit to her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Preas, in Johnson City.

Mrs. John White of Asheville was the guest of her sister, Mrs. George Hyams, last Friday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pepper of Washington, D. C., was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Artz on Sunday. Mrs. Pepper was formerly Miss Mary Hamilton of Asheville.

Mrs. Fred Artz and Mr. and Mrs. Welsford Artz of Johnson City were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Artz.
