A Prize Fight Stopped By a Woman.
-The Lyons (Iowa) Mirror relate how a prize fight was squashed: "The prize fight was projected by Hauntowners a little while ago between two boys of 'muddle.' The ground was staked off, a crowd gathered, respectable in numbers, and eminently so in character. But in the nick of time the mother of one of the bully boys appeared and asked what was up. A ringleader replied in a very unpretty manner, and instantly received a souse on the side of the head from a mop with which the good dame had armed herself, and then made for two or three others of the party. Whereupon every valorous fighter and spectator fled terrified."
