A general estimate was presented in the French National Assembly, on the 30th Dec. last, of the public expenses of the year 1792—which stand as follow:—

Maintenance of the princes, five millions of livres;
army, two hundred and twenty-one millions;
foreign affairs, six millions;
marine and colonies, forty-three millions;
general administration, five millions;
public worship, eighty-one millions;
pensions to ecclesiastics, sixty-eight millions;
national assembly, five millions;
civil list, twenty-five millions;
bridges and roads, four millions;
high national court, and court of appeal, four hundred and fifty thousand;
schools and academies, one million;
interest of public debt, twenty millions;
life annuities, one hundred millions;
perpetual annuities, three hundred millions—

Making a total of seven hundred and seventy-four millions of livres, or upwards of thirty-two millions two hundred and fifty thousand pounds sterling.—

Of this vast sum, two hundred and forty-four millions of livres are upon the list of extraordinaries, caused by the revolt in St. Domingo, and other national convulsions.
