Overzealous Officials.

Special to the Indianapolis Journal.

Rushville, Dec. 22.—Mr. C. D. Ermston, who is associated with Major Blackburn, of Cincinnati, in the practice of law, came here yesterday to look after the Block case, in which the firm is employed, and was jailed on the charge of drunk. He was promptly placed on bail, and to-day honorably acquitted, and will immediately prosecute the officer for damages. It turned out that the street being slippery he fell on the snow, and the officer supposed that he was drunk.
