Full Text

KINGSTON, (Jamaica) March 19.

On Thursday last, the following accident happened in this town: A board in the floor of a room, ten feet from the ground, suddenly gave way, as the mistress of the house was walking on it, and she fell through: Directly under the place was a well thirty feet deep, down which she was also precipitated. By the kind exertions of Mr. Latimer, in whose neighbourhood the accident happened, she was very soon got out again: Though the well was only three feet in diameter, and the lady fell altogether forty feet, she providentially received no other injury than a slight contusion on the head, and a scratch on one of her legs.
