STOCKHOLM, Nov. 7. (UP) - It was reported today but not confirmed that either Ernest Orlando Lawrence, professor of physics of the University of California, or Enrico Fermi of Rome would be the likely recipient of the Nobel prize in physics, to be awarded Nov. 10.
Prof. Lawrence has become internationally known for research in the structure of atoms, atomic nucleus, transmutation of atoms, interaction of radiation and matter on applications of physics to biology and medicine.
