WAYCROSS. Jan. 23.—Waycross is soon to have a Juvenile court. Sometime ago the movement was launched to establish a court for delinquent children, but for some reason the matter was never carried to completion. Judge J. I. Summerall, of the Superior court, under the authority invested in him by the state law, has appointed C. L. Mattox, ordinary of Ware county, as judge, and Charles N. Wilson, prominent in the Boy Scout movement here, probation officer of the new court, which will begin to function in the next few days.
The step was taken here as a result of the activities of Crawford Jackson, of Atlanta, general section of the Juvenile Protective association, who spent two days in the city in the interests of the court. Mr. Jackson spoke in one of the largest churches in the city Sunday and created a sentiment very favorable to establishing the institution here.
