New York, Oct. 23. Thursday, November 12, during American Education Week, the youth councils and college chapters of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will sponsor a nation-wide series of youth mass meetings protesting educational inequalities.

November 12 has been set aside by the National Education Association for discussion of the theme "The Unfinished Tasks of the Schools." The youth groups of the NAACP believes that the elimination of inequalities between the white and colored students is one of the unfinished tasks of the schools.

In Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Richmond, New Orleans and other centers of Negro life, preparations by NAACP youth groups are under way. One half of the program on that night will be devoted to emphasis upon the inequalities which Negro pupils face in local communities; and the second half will point out the national inequalities, focusing attention upon the national educational fight of the NAACP.

An attempt is being made to secure a nation-wide radio hookup with a prominent speaker. Edward Lawrence of Brooklyn, N. Y. is chairman of the National Youth Planning Committee for the nation-wide program.

Dr. Charles H. Thompson, editor of the Journal of Negro Education, and professor of education at Howard University, has prepared for the association a pamphlet on educational inequalities of Negro students which will be distributed November 12.
