Paris, July 2. The Remonstrances of the Parliament against the Money Edicts were presented on Friday the 24th past. The King made the following Answer, on that occasion, to the First President: "I am not ignorant of the Wants of my People, or of the Efforts they have made during the War. Before I determined on the Edicts and Declaration which I have caused to be registered, I had weighed the Arguments which my Parliament have set forth in their Remonstrances: The Necessity of providing for the Charges of the State and its Liberation, restrains me from making any Alteration in the Plan I have laid down. My Parliament will be sensible of its Utility by its Effects; and will perceive my View in it by the Relief it will give my People."
