Local Girls Lose In Miami Tennis

Pam Yates and Paula Sellers were both eliminated from singles competition in the Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Tournament at Flamingo Park in Miami Beach yesterday.

Pam, 13, later teamed with a lass from Mexico and the team won a first round doubles match.

The Yates girl was clearly outclassed in her third round singles match. Facing Carol Ann Prosen, Florida's number one girl player, Pam went down to defeat, 6-0, 6-0.

Paula, 13, after winning two matches, also met defeat in the third round of the singles play. She later was eliminated in doubles play.

Pam is the only local representative still in the Orange Bowl tourney.

Key West youngsters even though failing to win honors, have gained valuable tournament experience.
