Extract of a Letter from Lancaster, Nov. 15.

Just now an Express brings us an Account, that the Town of Carlisle had surrendered upon these Terms: That the City Gates are to be set open to the Rebels, and the Inhabitants are to pay them two Thousand Pounds, or to have their Houses rifled. The Capitulation was last Night, and the Town surrendered this Day at Eleven.

The Citadel or Castle still holds out, and the Militia's Arms are taken in there, and several of the Militia are gone into the Castle. This is all we can learn, but shall send you a more particular Account.
