A Surveyor Shot in South Carolina.

Some years ago a man named Prentice purchased a large tract of land in Logan county, S. C. Litigation began, and the suit found its way into the United States district court. Recently Judge Jackson ordered a survey of the land. A. P. Sinnett was appointed surveyor by the court and he, together with two of his sons, started to Logan county to do the work. Wednesday, when within fifteen miles of Griffithville, on the Mud river, the sons were met by a number of squatters on the land, who fired into the party. William Sinnett was shot in the right side. The wounded man was brought to his home in Charleston. He is in a dangerous condition.
