Large Bear Shot.-On Monday last. two young men, named Thomas C. Yingling and Sampson C. Glass. while hunting among a ledge of Rocks. known as Bear Rocks.' about eight miles north of this place, came upon a monster bruin lying in a hole among the rocks. On their approach he raised his head and looked at them and then quietly laid down again. A bullet from each gun simultaneously planted in his knowledge box, caused him to look up pretty quick, but his day was over. On examination he proved to be one of the largest varmints of the kind ever killed on these mountains. and extremely fat He weighed 316 pounds after the entrails were taken out His kidney and entral fat yielded 3 gallons of oil The young men realized the snug sum of $53 out of him, besides the fun and glory of killing such a whopper.-Altoona Tribune.
