WASHINGTON. (P) -- The Federal
Power Commission has set
December 8 as the final day for
filing of protests against a small
power project proposed by the
San Juan Fishing-and Packing Co.,
on Evans Island in Alaska.
The project is composed of three
small concrete and timber dams
on San Juan Lake and stream,
with waterwheels coupled to gen-
erators with a capacity of 100
kilowatts.
The
commission's
announce-
ment said the project represents
an enlargement of an earlier pro-
ject for which the company's li-
cense expired last year.
Evans Island is 50 miles east
of Seward.
