Demand For Good Farm Help

With the coming of weather suitable for farming activities, a shortage of male help is predicted. The state free employment agencies for several weeks have indicated that the demand for good farm help is in excess of the supply, while in other lines of work there were almost twice as many applicants as there were requests for help. Several cities last week reported this shortage of male help for farm work. Weather has been such that Ohio farmers are weeks behind, and just as soon as they can work they will need considerable additional help in order for them to catch up with their usual spring planting. Good wages are being offered, but even this fails to interest many men who are out of jobs. They seem to prefer loafing in a large city to working in rural homes, even though the latter is far more beneficial and profitable to them.
