Full Text

The Madisonian speaking to the Tyler party from head quarters gives a new cue, thus:

"The friends of the Administration occupy a high and strong central position, while the contending factions are struggling all around them in the plain. Thousands and tens of thousands of the combatants are rallying in the centre, under the Republican flag. Then, rather than run the risk of doing mischief to friend as well as foe, as may have been the case in one or two precipitate sorties, we are inclined to believe that the most prudent course will be for the friends of the Administration to seek recruits by kind words and friendly acts, from all quarters, instead of firing indiscriminately on the contending factions.

"Let them watch the course of events, and reserve their fire for the common enemy. If any man, who has enrolled his name among the friends of John Tyler, is doubtful of success or faint-hearted, give him a passport and let him go. If any one be found insincere in his professions, let him be drummed out of the camp. The position, alone, occupied by the friends of the Administration, is equal, at this crisis, to a half a million of votes. And it will be ascertained that he who overthrew the Bank, is the most proper chief to overthrow the Bank candidate."

There is a new voice for you, Tyler men. No more harsh words! No more precipitate sorties! Watch and wait! The orders to the Tyler men from Washington, vary so often, that he must be a rapid reader, who can comprehend them all.
