The nomination of Col. H. S. Thompson for Governor gives great satisfaction here. Our people have not forgotten the few weeks he spent with us during the session of the Normal Institute two years ago, and the only regret will be that the office of superintendent of education loses so efficient a worker, and one so well qualified for the position. Col. Thompson's many friends here will take great pleasure in casting their ballots to place him in the chair of the State's Executive.
