WOMEN'S RING

BEATS STORES,

POLICE BELIEVE

Thousands of dollars worth of merchandise have been obtained from Milwaukee department stores by a ring of married women of respectable families police believe as the result of the arrest today of Mrs. J. L. Jenkowski, 28, 1449 Humboldt Ave., wife of a real estate dealer, and Mrs. John Jenkowski, 30, 1110 Richards St.

Charge Credit Forgery.

Warrants charging forgery of bills of credit and obtaining goods under false pretenses were issued against the two women by the district attorney.

They were taken into custody by Detectives John Albert and Joseph Daetsch, as they were leaving an uptown department store today and were about to enter the parked automobile in which Mrs. Jenkowski's husband was waiting.

Others Are Implicated.

The women had about $50 worth of the merchandise in their possession at the time, but they have obtained between $500 and $1,000 worth, police believe.

When questioned at the district attorney's office they are said to have implicated other women for whom warrants may be issued.

Jenkowski was released without charge after being taken to the police station.
