For Aldermen
From First

Two announcements for alderman in the coming municipal election of Tuesday, May 2, were made today, the first entries for any aldermanic position. They were J. W. Gill, who has served two two-year terms, and whose term expires this spring, and T. S. Kittrell. Both seek to succeed Mr. Gill as an alderman from the first ward.

No announcements, not even from incumbents, have been made from any of the other three wards. One member of the council from each ward is up for re-election this spring.

Mayor Henry T. Powell, rounding out his first two-year term in office, announced his candidacy for re-election several weeks ago. No opposition to him has developed.
